
Väderstad Sweden Invests Greatly in Automation
As an effect of a positive market development and strong outlook for the future, Väderstad AB are once again expanding the factory at the Swedish headquarters. The new building, measuring 32,300 square feet, will accommodate the company´s greatest investment in manufacturing automation to date.
“Starting in January 2018, Väderstad AB are expanding our factory in the city of Väderstad in Sweden. The new building will accommodate our new state-of-the-art facility for automated manufacturing of laser-cut metal parts, as well as increase our production capacity”, says Jan Engfeldt, CEO of Väderstad AB, and adds: “The facility will increase our versatility as well as strengthen our ability to meet customer demands regarding shorter delivery times. The new building will also include office spaces, locker rooms and training facilities available for our employees.”
Väderstad AB, which is included in the family owned Väderstad Group, is represented in 40 countries worldwide. The company employs nearly 1,200 people, of which around 800 are working at the factory and head office in Sweden.
“This investment reflects our growth and expansions in several markets around the world. It will increase our productivity and push our quality level even further. Furthermore, it reflects our strong willingness to invest in Sweden in the long term”, says Mats Båverud, CEO of the Väderstad Group.
The total investment, which includes the new building and the new facility for automated manufacturing of laser-cut metal parts, exceeds more than 31.1 million CAD. The building is expected to be completed in the end of 2018.
