Inject New Life Into Volvo T450D Haulers with the New K-Tec 1228AT Scraper
K-Tec Earthmovers announce 1228AT scraper model to move a heated capacity of 28 cubic yards with the classic Volvo T450D scraper hauler
Manitoba, Canada – January 26, 2016 – K-Tec Earthmovers have released a new 1228AT scraper model to breathe new life into the popular Volvo T450D scraper hauler. The 28 cubic yard scraper has been one of K-Tec’s most popular models for years, but now K-Tec has enabled a system to mount onto the chassis of the T450D, with a Gooseneck hitchpole design that transfers more weight to the front axle of the truck for enhanced traction, turning radius, and pulling power. The Volvo T450D originally entered the market in 2006, and was specifically developed for heavy construction applications and promoted high performance (34mph), high productivity (419hp), low fuel consumption to ensure long machine life. Volvo CE is no longer producing T450D units, resulting in a marketplace of affordable and available power-units. Contractors who already have a T450D in their fleet, or dealers who may have old stock of T450D’s can easily add on a K-Tec 1228AT for a unit that can self-load, transport, and eject material with a single engine running and sole operator. This combination of equipment is a versatile and profitable one for end-users.
The town of Wainwright, Alberta, Canada recently purchased two 1228AT units to fit behind their pair of existing T450D’s in their equipment fleet for local earthmoving projects. K-Tec’s 1228AT scraper is able to self-load as an efficient single unit operation for precision grading and dumping; be push-loaded for enhanced loading time; or be top-loaded via excavator for heaped hauling. K-Tec scrapers are backed by a 3-Year structural warranty, to minimize downtime for critical jobsite operations.
