Employee Spotlight – Traci Koochin
Traci Koochin, Administrator of Branch Services – Regina, 15 years
Traci Koochin has worked at Redhead Equipment for 15 years starting out covering a maternity leave. Trying to find the right path for herself in her career she stayed on with Redhead Equipment after the term position and became a Sales Coordinator in the Truck and Trailer Division, and further became the Administrator of Branch Services.
Traci’s role involves creating policies and procedures fit for the organization, bringing consistencies throughout all seven branches. On a normal day Traci has a game plan and methodically tackles her daily tasks all while responding to questions and providing support to staff in their daily challenges. She says one of the challenges of her job is communicating procedures to the different branches, keeping in mind each branch has a different personality, and trying to bring a cohesive practice to Redhead Equipment. She also says she loves when the people ask questions about the procedures she has informed them of which give her a sense of value in her role.
When asked about Redhead’s tagline “Whatever It Takes” Traci reflects on her time working reception where a customer needed a part out in the field near the end of the day on a long weekend Friday. She was asked if she could deliver the parts herself, while the Parts and Service Departments greeted customers and answered the phones in her absences. Traci, along with the Parts and Service Departments, took the opportunity to do whatever it takes to provide excellent service and managed to satisfy the customer’s needs.
When asked about her 15 years of service with Redhead Equipment she said the company treats the staff, the customers and the community wonderfully. The staff are like family, which is part of what keeps her working at the company.
If she could give any advice to someone just starting a career with Redhead Equipment she would say “do your best, take ownership and responsibility for your work, and ask for challenges and put yourself out there, there is lots of opportunity for advancement.”
Something you might not know about Traci is she likes to participate in Mud Runs, she says she really likes the adventurous side of it and the thrill of it all.
