Employee Spotlight – Tyson Gorrill
Tyson Gorrill, Ag Service Technician, Swift Current – 11 years
Tyson Gorrill is an Agriculture Service Technician at Redhead Equipment in our Swift Current branch and has been working here for eleven years. His job as an Ag Service Tech involves working on everything; he says “tractors, combines, sprayers, floaters, air drills, everything in the farm world now we get to work on.” Tyson says sometimes it can be challenging to get things done, “in the busy times it gets hectic, there are good days and bad days, were trying to get everyone’s equipment fixed and out on time for when they need it.” He also mentioned helping people and receiving their gratitude is rewarding: “once you fix their equipment and they get it back, they’re happy and they’re grateful, it gives you a little hurrah, to keep doing what you’re doing, that feeling of appreciation is great.”
Referring to the good days with colleagues and customers Tyson enjoys the atmosphere at the Swift Current branch: “It’s the people that make this branch so great, having good co-workers makes coming to work easier and more enjoyable and the customers are great.”
One of Tyson’s biggest accomplishments he said is getting his Journeyman’s.
We asked Tyson if he’s had any memorable experiences while working at Redhead Equipment and he reflected on a time he had the opportunity to work out at Redland Farms, Gary Redhead’s farm. He said they were out fixing equipment during harvest and didn’t start heading back until the sun was rising.
Fun fact: Tyson Gorrill is the original Tyson in our Swift Current branch, as there were three others at one time; he’s T1, the original.
