Employee Spotlight – Rylan Loucks
Rylan Loucks, Health & Safety Advisor – Saskatoon, 7 years
Rylan Loucks started at Redhead seven years ago and is the only solely safety oriented person in the Human Resource department. Day to day he travels around to the different branches and communities to work with managers and supervisors on improving workplace safety procedures and ensuring employee safely throughout the organization. His job focuses on how to best keep employees and customers safe throughout the day to day operations of the business. His role includes completing tool box talks, safely inspections and other safety talks throughout the organization.
Sometimes it can be a challenge to communicate new practices and policies to the branches and introduce new safety strategies effectively. “We want to ensure things are properly understood and that our employees understand the why of certain changes.” Even though communication can be challenging it is always rewarding to have our employees remain safe throughout the day and make it home to their families every night. One of the things Rylan likes about his role is having the chance to meet other people throughout the company and have the opportunity to do some training with different employees in the different communities we are located.
We asked Rylan why he thinks the company has been around for so long and he mentioned how dedicated Redhead is to supporting Saskatchewan communities. “The company is always giving back to the communities and providing excellent customers service as well from our loyal and hardworking employee base, it definitely contributes to the longevity of the company.”
We often go further than ensuring not only that our employees are safe on the job, but also informing customers of the best safety practices and doing ‘Whatever it takes’ to ensure customers and their employees remain safe on the job and in the field.
Rylan says Redhead Equipment is a great place to work, “it’s nice to work for a company that gives back to the community and has an overall great group of people to work with.”
