Employee Spotlight – Jennifer Summach
Jennifer Summach, Mack Warranty Administrator, 15 years, Saskatoon
Jennifer Summach has been working at Redhead Equipment in Saskatoon for over 15 years. She started in 2005 in Reception working Mondays and she said she worked a month of only Mondays before being offered a full time position. She worked in Reception for a couple of years, and then in 2007/08 covered a Parts Coordinator role for a term before returning to Reception. In 2010 she applied for the Mack Warranty position and has been filling the role ever since. Jennifer says she is quite happy where she is in her career
We asked her what a day in the life of the Mack Warranty Administrator is like and she said, “It’s mostly working on and submitting Mack warranty claims, dealing with the Service Technicians involved and ensuring to get the correct information. It’s a lot of paper work and it changes day to day.” She also mentioned how there are grey areas in warranty and not everything is listed to the exact detail so there is a lot of time spent on digging for information which can be challenging.
Jennifer says she gets along with pretty much everyone and she thinks that the branch is full of good people; mostly working with the Mack side of the business she finds it rewarding to work with the people she does every day, she said “the people are great and that’s what makes my day.” She also went on to say the employees are treated really well, there is room for advancement in most departments and it’s a really good company to work for.
When asked about her thoughts on the longevity of the company, Jennifer said it has to do with our customer service, “we treat our customers like family, we sit and chat with them, try and do our best to take care of them, get the parts and service they need and ensure they keep coming back.”
We asked Jennifer what she finds most interesting about working at Redhead Equipment and she said it’s the people, “being a part of a company for long term you get to see your colleagues come and go and the ones that stay you learn more about their lives and its really neat to see and hear about new things and kids growing up and what not.” She added that the company is unique in offering different benefits from the annual Uniform Program, to Social Club activities, and excellent health benefits, “they offer a lot of ways for us to be involved so long as we take advantage of them,” Jennifer commented on the company as a whole. She also stated she is proud to have been working for Redhead 15 years strong, prior to which she was switching jobs looking for the right fit before finding it at Redhead.
