Employee Spotlight – Doug Klaassen
Doug Klaassen, Sales & Marketing Coordinator, 5 years – Prince Albert
This week’s employee spotlight, Doug Klaassen, has been working at Redhead Equipment for 5 years as Sales Coordinator and also provides assistance as a Marketing Coordinator for the Agriculture division. Doug’s role involves working behind the scenes in the sales department, he says “invoicing equipment when a purchase is made, ensuring bills get paid when having to purchase equipment pieces or arrange for trucking; we process those invoices.” He also helps the marketing department with trying to market our used Ag Equipment and keep up to date on Agriculture marketing trends.
Doug has been working with many of the same people for around 25 years, many whom stayed through the acquisition of Moker & Thompson back in 2014. He has been in the industry for a while a certainly knows his stuff. Doug says “I think we have a pretty good team and we all pretty well get along here at the branch and a lot of that has to do with those long standing relationships.” Doug also mentioned he has developed some good relationships with customers over the years and some have even become close friends. Sometimes Doug finds himself going above and beyond for customers and personally delivering parts out to neighboring farmers on his way home, e figures he’s heading the same direction may as well save them the trouble, this is just another way our staff here at Redhead Equipment do Whatever it Takes to get the job done and support our customers.
We asked Doug if he has come across any challenges in his work and he said “sometimes there is a lot going on and you never quite know what you’re going to face coming into work, you never know what you will have to deal with and you have to be flexible enough to switch gears if required.” Working alongside a diverse sales team in a thriving industry, Doug has some advice for newcomers to Redhead Equipment; “show up, work hard, don’t be afraid to ask for help, people are here to help you and there is a lot of depth on the bench here when you need.”
