Employee Spotlight – Aaron Skiftun
Aaron Skiftun, Parts Technician, Melfort – 18 Years
This week’s Employee Spotlight, Aaron Skiftun, has been working in Parts with Redhead Equipment for 18 years in our Melfort Branch. He works mainly in back parts with the Service Technicians; fulfilling parts order requests and getting the right parts together for the service department and work orders. He mentioned one of the biggest challenges in the industry is the advancement in technology, “you’re always finding something that is new and sometimes the technology itself is far more advanced than your parts books and you’re unsure what parts you need for a job. Once you do figure it out and can get the customer who’s broken down back up and running and looked after properly it’s really rewarding,” Aaron said regarding the job.
Aaron describes the Melfort branch as having a small town feel to it, everyone works closely with each other, parts and service work off of each other and it’s a more personal and friendly environment inter departmentally. “When you’ve been here as long as I have, you get to know your colleagues pretty good.”
We asked Aaron about our tagline Whatever It Takes and he reflected on a time of putting in the extra effort, “a customer was broken down in the field with his combine one Friday afternoon, we rushed to get a guy to the Regina depot to get the parts we needed, had the parts back by the same evening, the combine was fixed up by Saturday mi-day and the farmer was happily back to work in his field.”
When we asked Aaron about what he thinks contributes to the longevity of Redhead Equipment he said its the people, “our employees step up when it’s needed and perform to the maximum, doing whatever it takes to get the job done and maintain happy customers.” He added, “Besides that the continued growth of the company across the province has played a role in contributing to the success of Redhead Equipment, its good business.”
